Team history 1999 to today
The team first got together and started training as Under 8's in the summer of 1999 season under Chris Allen. There first matches were friendly games away v Weeley 13-11-99, i know the first game we were beaten heavily (i can't remember the score) & in the second game we won 2-0.
Summer 2000, Chris Allen handed the team over to Steve Parker and Chris then started a new under 7's/8's team for the club. The team played in a number of tournaments to prepare for there first season as under 9's in the Colchester & District Youth League. In the early part of the season the teams , Reds & Blues were managed by Steve Parker, he was joined by James Clark and later by Julian Lamb.
Both teams had indifferant seasons and both finished just below half way in there leagues.
Summer 2001 and are first cup win! at the Lawford Juniors 5 a side beating Harwich & Parkeston 2-1 in the final after being 1-0 down, although before this there were a number of semi final defeats.
2001-02 Under 10's season. Steve Parker was now managing just the Red team and carrying out all the administration for both teams whilst and James Clark & Julian Lamb were managing the blue with James & Julian taking the coaching.
The red team had a resonably good season and finished 6th, the blue team had an excellant season. They finished 4th in the league and reached the League Cup Semi-finals.
Summer 2002 saw us win the Colchester Athletic 5 a side beating Wivenhoe A 1-0 in the final in a very tough game.TO BE CONTINUED.
